Pho Broth Mix Reviews
K *****stars
4/29/19 All I can show is an empty bowl...this is amazing!! Taste like authentic Pho from a restaurant (if made per instructions which additives such as beef and vegetables). I purchase frequently best I've had yet! Pros: Very Flavorful, Amazing taste, and not spicy. Cons: None.
Dinubalbear*****stars Easier and as good as Restaurants
3/3/2015 I read the reviews and decided to try it, though I was doubtful a mix could taste as good. It says to use 3 teaspoons per cup of water, which is 1 tablespoon. So I used a measuring tablespoon and leveled it for each cup. Do NOT use the spoons you eat with to measure, as you will get it too strong or too weak. It was at the precise point of goodness, measured correctly. I could see how using heaping teaspoons you use for tea would make it too strong and salty. I added 1/4 teaspoon of ginger paste and lemon grass paste just to brighten the flavors, and Wow! I was told it tasted better than at the Pho restaurant. I don't know about that, but it certainly was as good. The measurement is very precise, not a suggestion. If you do not have measuring spoons, then under fill the spoons, not over fill. No skimming scum, no 2 days to make, no mess and well worth it. I would buy it again. 152 people found this helpful
jaxflygirl*****stars The best Pho sure
7/24/2020 I’m a bit of a pho addict. I know the best places in town for a good bowl of phó but sadly that’s a 40 minute drive each way for me. Really sucks when you want a good bowl of phò to warm your soul and fill your belly. I’ve tried making, but it’s a long involved process and not really economical for a family of two. I’ve tried many ready made phò broths which are okay in a pinch. This one ticks all of my boxes! Fast, easy, affordable, and flavorful! My so. Even said this is the best one so far and that was even before we hit it with the hoisin and sriracha. This is going to definitely be a staple in my house!
Amazon Customer *****stars Suprisingly easy and delicious
4/14/2020 I am a Vietnamese guy and I eat pho all the time. Just got this today and decided to try this right away. I used 1.5 tablespoons for 2 cups of water. I added green onion, cilantro, a squeeze of lime juice, some thinly sliced onion and some store bought meatballs plus pho noodles. It turned out very good. I wouldn't say that it's the same quality and taste as a real bowl of pho but it was surprisingly tasty and satisfying. This is many times better than instant noodles or ramen and i would definitely eat this many times over. Making pho using a pressure cooker is pretty fast and easy but it requires a lot of work and you have to cook a lot. This you can do quickly based on how much pho you want and the whole process from start to finish takes less than 10 minutes, not counting time to boil water. I would add slices of ginger and maybe 1 small piece of star anise next time to see if it's even tastier... 10 people found this helpful
Amazon Customer *****stars Very Good Pho - I'm believer
10/12/21 purchased my first can being very skeptical as I love good Pho from restaurants. Moved from the big city to the country 3 years ago and missed my favorite Pho places - so was willing to give this a try. JUST DAMN! Took me a few bowls to get it tweaked to my liking but very easy to have restaurant- quality Pho way out here in the country!I use a heaping Tablespoon for 3-cups of water. I first boil the water and put in a couple of ginger slices or squirt of Ginger Paste - a few slices of onion and fresh sliced jalapeno. I pre-cook sirloin rare and slice it up and cook an entire box of rice noodles. I put the cooked and chilled rice noodles in a big Pho bowl - add the cooked sliced sirloin. Add onions and jalapenos to the boiling water and add the Pho base and let boil for about another 1-2 mins. Pour over the noodles and meat - add fresh Basil, Siracha and Hoisin for a delicious meal. I have plenty of noodles and meat for 2 more bowls : ) One person found this helpful
Sandfinder *****stars Best one I have found so far
8/13/2020 In my pursuit of finding a way to make easy pho, this is #1 in my list. So far, this is the best solution because it's easy to use, last a long time, and has the closest flavor to the pho I get at restaurants. I find myself adding 2-3 times more powder than the recommended amount in order to get the rich broth I expect. I also add some more salt to improve the taste. If you use only this powder and not add anything else besides noodles, it will not taste the same as a regular bowl of pho. Why? Because you need to add garnishes such as cilantro, onion, bean sprouts, and scallion. Soaking meat in the broth also improves the flavor. I also add a can of chicken broth to improve the richness of the flavor. 4 people found this helpful

6/26/22 When I was at my girlfriend's a few months ago, we ordered delivery from a Vietnamese restaurant. She recommended the pho, which I'd never had before. Absolutely amazing! I was pleasantly surprised to find to find this pho beef broth mix to be delicious.
Pete *****starsThis is the best PHO Broth I'hv ever had
1/3/22 This has amazing flavor and simple to make. My preference is to double the recommended amount per water.
Ellen *****starsGreat taste
2/17/22 used to make pho the old time-consuming way, but decided to try this mix. Not only is it easy, but actually tastes better! My husband is picky about his pho, but prefers the taste of this. My only suggestion would be to use a little more than directed, but that is a personal choice.
Heidi *****stars Pho Sure
5/24/22 This makes a great Pho broth without the hours/days of flavor development. If you want perfection, some Asian stores sell and a spice packet that you can boil with this broth. It takes it up a notch but this is good on its own.
Mark *****stars This is AMAZING
4/23/22 We love this! We ordered rice noodles with it and have been using it multiple times a week. The flavor is great and it’s the perfect substitute for a night out for pho.
William J Graham *****starsLove it
3/13/22 Just picked this up made myself a quick cup of broth to try it out I like it went ahead and ordered another can right away. Gonna make some beef Pho for dinner…
Amazon Customers***** starsGreat replacement for Mauchan flavor packets
1/25/22 use more than the recommended amount to accommodate my tastes, but otherwise well pleased. Sturdy package and resealable lid make it perfect for drawer storage.
Hot and Sour Soup Mixes Reviews
Alliecat ******stars Love this soup mix
7/9/2020 I make 4 cups of soup at a time using 14 teaspoons of soup mix. I add grated carrots, mushrooms, ramen noodles and sometimes firm tofu and ground pork if I have some on hand. This soup tastes very good. I am hooked on it as I could eat it every day and recently have done that. It has a nice heat, but if you want more heat or more sour just add your chili oil and some rice wine vinegar. I always swirl an egg into the soup and add a little sesame oil and it is delish! 32 people found this helpful

My name is Hillary. I love your product Hot & Sour Soup Mix. I used to buy it from Oakland Chinatown. However, this store is out of business lately. I would like to know which store either in Oakland or San Francisco is carrying this product. Please advice!

3/18/2021 This is now a regular purchase for me. This is a great start for your homemade Hot & Sour Soup. Add your favorite ingredients. We add mushrooms, various vegetables, brown rice or quinoa...whatever is fresh in the garden or on hand in the kitchen. And a beaten egg drizzled into the pot near the end. White or rice vinegar gives it an extra punch. I can make hot & sour soup from scratch, but this has all the flavorings already mixed together. Easy to fix. Tastes good. One person found this helpful

I was unable to purchase your Hot and Sour soup mix at the Uwajimaya in our neighborhood. Really enjoy your product, I think every house should keep this in their pantry.
Mr. Opinion *****stars As good as any restaurants
3/5/21 This product is off the hook good. I added cubed tofu, beaten egg, match stix sliced scallion, carrot, mushrooms and some left over pork tenderloin. I added some hot Chinese chili oil. and it was perfect. I will never have to order "take out" Hot and Sour soup again. I have eaten an ocean of Hot and Sour soup all over the world and this is as good as it gets with right additions.

6/12/22 usually make my own Hot & Sour soup and it can be very time consuming... when I want a quick bowl I use this product, I'll usually add stuff to it lol I've purchased it several times and haven't been unhappy!

I live in Bellingham Wa and your hot and sour soup is not available, even though there are two Chinese produce stores here. Where nearby can I find your Hot and Sour Soup. There is no substitute.

This review is from: Hot & Sour Soup Mix, Great Bowls of Soup!, For those of you who love Hot & Sour soup this is a fast fix at home. An 8oz. can makes over half a gallon of soup. Or you can make individual servings. Add some cut up tofu, a beaten egg or for meat lovers fry up some spicy Italian sausage and crumble it in. Fantastic! I love hot & sour soup and have eaten it in many restaurants but this is as good as any I've ever had. And simple. Try it!

This stuff is a great base that I use quite often at home and ALWAYS on campouts, as good as we served in the chinese restaurant I worked in. For my son's boyscout meals they take a 1 can mix, 2 blocks of tofu, 2 eggs(or eggbeaters if hiking), a ziplock with chopped scalions and seseme oil combined. Add the mix to a big pot of water (thinner or thicker doesnt matter), cut the tofu right in its container and drop it in, when it reaches a boil stir the eggs in quickly, turn of the heat and add the scalion/oil mix. Easy to carry, easy prep, and you can earn a gourmet food badge. Best of all all the kids really like it. It is a great change from the pork-n-beans or canned stew.

Great Soup! I've had Hot-n-Sour in the best Asian restaurants in San Francisco, New York, Seattle, Honolulu and Los Angeles, and man, for an instant product out of a can, this mix comes really, really close to the real deal.
